Expanding a Typeface Using Interpolation
This weekend we worked on creating updated weights for our typefaces we've been working on. On Sunday, Andy shared with us a really great way to use Python to create the Interpolation.
Interpolation is a mathematical method of constructing new points, in this case, anchor points within a range of established places.
I created a regular weight of the letter n, and a super bold weight of the same letter. Python is a coding language able to create paths to create in-between weights like semi-bold and bold. Drawbot takes 20 different weights and turns each of them into a new frame making for some sweet animations.
